AGI will emerge in 5 to 10 years (from 2025)

Speaking at a briefing in DeepMind's London offices in March 2025, Hassabis said AGI — defined as AI exhibiting "all the cognitive capabilities we have as humans" — will start to emerge in the next 5 to 10 years, with a 50% probability.
